Describe a time that you had two (or maybe more) good things to choose between. For example; choosing a flavour of ice-cream. What were your options? How did you make your decision?

Lydia suggests weighing up the pros and the cons to help make a decision. List the pros and cons for choosing between; wearing a raincoat and gum boots to school today, OR wearing shorts and a singlet. Which one had more pros?

Discuss with your group other ways you can make decisions. Are these different ways helpful?

In Te Reo we can say, “Whaia te ara tika”. This translates to - “Follow the correct pathway”. The type of choices we’re talking about in this session don’t really have a right or wrong path, but there are still pros and cons, better paths to take than others. Explain how this could be, use the choice you made in question 2 to help with your explanation.
